Okay, so Cassy needed the ticket, or she was done. The only way to get it was through Grace herself, and the chance was impossible. Grace was not a girl who invited people she didn't really know.
She kept thinking about it on her way home, and while dinner. Her parents were out--always out--so she ate with her younger sister, Nadia. Nadia was two years younger than her, still in middle school. She ate her food cheerfully and noticed her sister just spinning her spoon around.
"You okay?", she asked.
Cassy glanced. "What do you think?"
"Alright." Nadia made a small swallowing sound. "What happened?"
Should I tell her about this? she thought for a moment. "Um...nothing. Just school."
Her sister smiled. "It also stresses me out. Sometimes I imagine what I would do if I didn't have to go to school."
"What? Selling bread and cakes?" Baking was Nadia's favorite thing to do.
She instantly nodded. "You should find something fun to do, sis. I'm done here." Nadia grabbed her plate and bring it to the dishwasher.
Without appetite, Cassy chewed her food down to every last bite, then she went upstairs. Her room was next to Nadia's and the bathroom, so she could hear her sister bathroom singing. Cassy noticed that the door to Nadia's room was unlocked. Without second thought, she entered her sister's personal space.
Nadia's room was fully decorated with cheerful colors and stuffs. On her bed, around ten dolls from various sizes lined on top of the pastel pillows. There was a small spot in the corner full of stacks of books and pillows, a girl's typical dream spot. Cassy saw her sister's backpack on the table, and noticed it was open. She took a peek inside.
There was something that caught her attention, and when she took it, she gasped. It was an invitation to Grace's party, just like what Anna had. Cassy's name was on the receiver's name, written with gold glitter pen. There was a sentence which stated that those without invitation weren't welcome to the party.
Cassy thought for a while. On the day of the party, Nadia would be busy with her cheerleading practice. So...she couldn't have to go to Grace's party right? Moreover, Anna seemed to test her, whether she was worthy to be popular or not. And Cassy could apologize to her sister later, or buy her a big doll for cuddling.
She darted her eyes toward the door, but there was no sign of Nadia. She was still in the bathroom. Slowly, Cassy took the invitation and creep to her room next door.
